Katie turned 14 yesterday. Wow! Has it really been that long? I was going to show you some pics of her growing up, but I’d have to unpack the albums to scan some. But, here’s the pic that I took yesterday:

What a picture, huh? We still need to have our mother-daughter dinner at Japanese Steakhouse. Yum! I can’t wait.

As for the snow. It started yesterday. Then turned to icy rain. I got up and cleared my car of an 1/2″ of ice, drove 30 minutes for a drive that normally takes only 10 minutes, had to cancel most of my pick ups and deliveries for work. Then it turned back to snow. When I left at 4 o’clock, here is what my car looked like:

Way too much snow

Yes, that is 6″ of snow on top of my car. And, then there was the drive home:

Is there a road under there? Can you see the lines to indicate that there are 3 lanes? And that clump of snow irritated me all the way home. I don’t think they did anything with the roads. But, on to the funny.

This next thing I first saw on HBO, way back in 1990. I laughed myself sick then, and I just did it again when I found it on Youtube. It contains bad language, so if you don’t like that sorta thing, don’t click it.

I  have started a pair of mittens of my own recipe, since I couldn’t find anything to inspire me. Let’s see what I make of them. Later. Happy Knitting!

Ok, so I’m not really wicked, maybe just a little on the bad side. But I have been hopping busy, like a cat on a hot tin roof. I do get a few blips of down time, here and there. Then I’m swamped again. Speaking of cats, in one of minor blips, I found this. You have to watch it, it is that funny. Go ahead, I’ll wait………. Are you back? Good. Funny, wasn’t it? It was exactly what I needed during a busy day. It almost makes me want to trade in both of my jaded cats for a new kitten, just so I could have stuff like that to laugh about all the time.

On the knitting front, I have started (and nearly finished) a pair of Fetching for Katie in my left over Wool of the Andes Black Cherry Heather, to go with the Tudora in same said yarn. She is getting that set so I don’t kill ground her for trying to pilfer my orange Baby Alpaca set. I should have them finished this evening, and I’ll post pics of them tomorrow. And, I have just about reached the heel of the second sock for my SIL.

I was discussing with Miss PJ today all of the things that we have been wanting to do, but haven’t gotten around to this year, yet. Like going to the Ohio Renaissance Festival, making a trip to Amish country for wine, cheese, fry pies and fabric, and a well deserved girls’ weekend. Plus the Circleville Pumpkin Show is coming up, so the girls and I will be making a trip to that. And we just haven’t had time to spend together, not like we used to. We both miss that, very much. We used to be housewives together, along with her sister, Shannon, and my SIL, Angie. We used to do all kinds of fun things together with all the kids. But gas was much cheaper then. Ah, the good ol’ days!

Well, till later, Happy Knitting!
